Someday I will remember the last picture I post will be the first in the lineup! The picture was taken after we climbed out of Montezuma's Well. Oh, it was hot!The humble abode below is 800 years old and inhabited by some very short people. We had to hike down a rock trail to get to the bottom where this was found. It was very cool down there!
There is a stream running underneath this pool of water that the Indians used to irrigate a little bit of land. The house in the picture above is down in this pit along the side. There is a rock trail down and a sign up top that told us there hadn't been any rattlesnake sightings yet that day!
This house is built in the side of the pit with the pool of water below and the trail down to the other house to the left of this house.
Seeing these places makes you realize how lucky you were to be born in this day and age! I can't imagine the hardships these people endured. According to historical data, this group just disappeared one day and no trace has every been found.
